When I first got into photography I had a dream of changing the world and making it a better place. To leave my mark on this world. As happens to many young artist I quickly realized that life comes first and I had to make a career and of course a family. But my dream never died in fact it got stronger over the years. I now think of this as my legacy project, the capstone to 30 years of photography, my final portrait. As I get older and enter the last phase of my career I realize my dream of making real change in this world is more of a possibility, through self-publishing options such as amazon kindle, print on demand and the ability to mass market on a national/global stage via the internet and social media sites. I often wondered throughout the years what my last assignment would be, now I know it’s going to be a portrait of us.
